NearInteraction donor sponsor at TEI, -Tangible, Embedded and Embodied Interaction- Madeira

NearInteraction was a donor sponsor at this years TEI’11. The fifth international conference dedicated to presenting the latest results in tangible, embedded, and embodied interaction. It took place between 23rd to 26th January 2011 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.

The work presented at TEI addressed HCI issues, design, interactive art, user experience, tools and technologies, with a strong focus on how computing can finally bridge atoms and bits into cohesive interactive systems.

This conference was best known as a unique forum for exchanging ideas and presenting innovative work through talks, interactive exhibits, demos, hands-on studios, posters, art installations and performances.

Featured in “Jornal de Negócios” newspaper

This month we were featured in Portugal´s “Jornal de Negócios” feature on technological start-up businesses. Diogo Terroso says about NearInteraction´s conception, “There is a conspicuous gap in the ability of companies and organisations to combine and successfully incorporate both creativity and technology, and it is this void that I decided to explore with NearInteraction, to bridge technology and design with innovation.”


Interactive LEDwall at ModaLisboa | Estoril Fashion Force’33

NearInteraction joined forces with ModaLisboa | Estoril to create an interactive application for their catwalk LEDwall. Following the success of the previous edition, where NearInteraction featured an interactive multi-touch table that allowed realtime visualisation of the catwalk pictures immediately after each show, for this edition, NearInteraction presented a generative application that responds visually to the movement of each model as well as the sound accompanying the show.
